First NFT crypto art exhibition

The first ever mini-exhibition of photos and conceptual works based on the NFT technology was held at the Zion event in Kyiv, Ukraine.I designed all the exhibits this way: you read the description printed on paper and open the QR code link using smartphone camera that will guide you to the page of the original artwork on Open Sea Gallery.

Like all contemporary artworks these collections only work properly when paired with a description. The description of the work is an instruction that explains the manifesto.

It is interesting to observe people’s reactions to this kind of interactivity. The QR scheme seems to work — the public is interested not just in briefly reading the text and lingering on the image for a moment, but in holding a brief pause to “open the box” and look at what’s under the description, and more importantly, to look at the work already having the instructions for understanding it.

For me it was a very interesting experience. First of all, it was the first time I was at a live exhibition of my works. It was my 18th exhibition, all the others were in different parts of the world (London, Miami, Budapest, Milano…), but I couldn’t attend them. Secondly of course NFT art is a very specific and experimental field. It is interesting to be in the early stages of forming a new industry. It’s like witnessing something super fresh and new. And I really want to be a part of it.
